George Speckert: Popular Movie Hits for Violin and Piano
For the 'Ready to Play' series, George Speckert has composed film melodies in easily accessible arrangements for violin and piano.
In addition to current titles by Hans Zimmer, Lalo Shifrin and Harold Arlen, classic themes are also heard, thanks not least to their popularity in large films. These include Brahms 'Hungarian Dance in' The Great Dictator 'and even Johann Strauss' 'Beautiful Blue Danube' in films such as '2001 - Odyssey in Space'. What is less well known is that Walt Disney was already praised in one of his first full-length films, 'Fantasia', for his masterful implementation of classical music, and Stanley Kubrick used the attractiveness of large compositions in practically all films. The melodies do not require a lot of preparation and are always fun.
George Speckert is an instrumental teacher and media artist, was born in St. Louis and lives in Hanover. He is the arranger and composer of numerous editions for the Bärenreiter publishing house.
